Sample Answer:

“I’d like to talk about a place in my country that has always captured my interest – the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. Petra is a historical and archaeological city located in the southern part of the country. It is renowned for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system.

I first learned about Petra through history classes in school, and the more I read, the more fascinated I became. The city is nestled among rugged desert canyons and mountains, and its most famous structure is the Al-Khazneh, also known as the Treasury, which is carved into rose-red cliffs. The intricate carvings and the sheer scale of the architecture are truly awe-inspiring.

My interest in Petra grew even more when I saw documentaries showcasing its beauty and historical significance. The city was a major trading hub in ancient times and served as the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom. The ingenious water conduit system used by the Nabataeans to supply water to the city adds another layer of fascination.

What intrigues me the most is the blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty in one place. It’s a testament to human ingenuity and the ability to create remarkable structures even in challenging environments. I hope to visit Petra someday to experience its grandeur firsthand and immerse myself in the rich history it holds.”
