Sample Answer

To be honest, the coolest thing I’ve done with other people recently was a charity food drive for flood victims in central Vietnam. A couple of close friends and I were chatting at a café and we figured, “why not?”, so we set up a Shared Google Sheet to split the workload and basically divide and conquer—someone handled social posts, another friend took care of logistics, and I coordinated donations at a community centre in District 3. During the second weekend we even held a tiny weekend bake sale, and we’d bounce ideas off each other about pricing and packaging while we were literally frosting cupcakes.

It took about three weeks from planning to delivering the boxes. There were hiccups—people cancelling last minute, a truck breaking down—but what really kept us going was the messages from families saying “cảm ơn” and sending photos of meals they cooked. Long story short, doing it alone would’ve been impossible; we needed different skills and a lot of hands. At the end of the day, the best part wasn’t just the money or rice we raised, it was that sense of togetherness—you feel like a tiny but real part of something good.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 Questions

  1. What kinds of jobs require teamwork?

  2. How do you get along with your neighbours?

  3. What can parents do with their children to make them happy?

  4. How can children improve their social skills?

Question 1

Speaking Expressions:

  • Off the top of my head… (Nghĩ ngay ra thì…)

  • It’s not a one‑man show… (Không phải màn diễn của một người…)

  • It takes a village… (Cần cả một “làng” mới làm được…)

Ideas & Collocations:

  • Cross‑functional teams (nhóm liên chức năng)

  • Emergency response units (đội ứng cứu khẩn cấp)

  • Film production crew (đoàn làm phim)

  • Assembly line work (công việc dây chuyền)

Sample Answer:
Off the top of my head, anything from a film production crew to cross‑functional teams in tech is not a one‑man show. Hospitals and emergency response units clearly take a village—doctors, nurses, technicians all syncing up. Even assembly line work needs coordination so nothing jams the flow. In Vietnam, big construction projects are another example—engineers and workers have to move like clockwork. Teamwork keeps mistakes down and speed up, simple as that.

Question 2

Speaking Expressions:

  • To be fair… (Công bằng mà nói…)

  • We broke the ice by… (Chúng tôi phá băng bằng cách…)

  • We vibe pretty well… (Bọn tôi khá hợp nhau…)

Ideas & Collocations:

  • Neighbourhood Facebook group (nhóm Facebook khu phố)

  • Small talk in the lift (tán gẫu trong thang máy)

  • Borrow a ladder / cup of sugar (mượn thang / mượn đường)

  • Potluck dinner (bữa ăn chung mỗi người mang một món)

Sample Answer:
To be fair, I’m lucky—we vibe pretty well with our neighbours. We broke the ice by a potluck dinner during Tet; everyone brought a dish and swapped recipes. Now it’s easy to do small talk in the lift or borrow a ladder without feeling awkward. We also keep in touch through a neighbourhood Facebook group for lost pets and parcel deliveries. A little kindness goes a long way in apartment living.

Question 3

Speaking Expressions:

  • Honestly, the simplest thing is… (Thật ra, điều đơn giản nhất là…)

  • Kids light up when… (Trẻ con sáng rực lên khi…)

  • Quality time beats pricey toys… (Thời gian chất lượng hơn đồ chơi đắt tiền…)

Ideas & Collocations:

  • Weekend picnic (dã ngoại cuối tuần)

  • Board‑game night (tối chơi board game)

  • Cook together (nấu ăn cùng nhau)

  • Shared hobby (sở thích chung)

Sample Answer:
Honestly, the simplest thing is spend quality timequality time beats pricey toys any day. Kids light up when parents cook together or do a board‑game night instead of staring at phones. A quick weekend picnic or a shared hobby like planting herbs can do wonders. It’s not about being perfect parents; it’s about being present. Memories stick way longer than gadgets.

Question 4

Speaking Expressions:

  • One easy fix is… (Một cách dễ là…)

  • Get them out of their bubble… (Cho các em ra khỏi “bong bóng” của mình…)

  • Practice makes perfect… (Có công mài sắt có ngày nên kim…)

Ideas & Collocations:

  • Join a club or team (tham gia câu lạc bộ/đội nhóm)

  • Role‑play activities (hoạt động đóng vai)

  • Active listening & turn‑taking (lắng nghe chủ động & luân phiên lượt nói)

  • Peer feedback (phản hồi từ bạn bè)

Sample Answer:
One easy fix is to have kids join a club or team so they get out of their bubble. Teachers can use role‑play activities to teach active listening & turn‑taking without it feeling like a lecture. Parents can model chats at dinner where everyone shares and gives peer feedback kindly. After all, practice makes perfect—social skills are muscles, not magic. The more they try, the smoother it gets.
